The Government of Punjab has officially launched the Punjab Climate Internship Program (Phase-II), known formally as the CM Punjab Climate Leadership Development Internship Program. Spearheaded by the Environment Protection & Climate Change Department (EPCCD), this initiative empowers young professionals to tackle intense environmental challenges like urban smog and deforestation while gaining direct public sector experience.

If you are a fresh graduate passionate about sustainability, policy implementation, and real community development, this program is your stepping stone. Offering a generous monthly stipend of PKR 60,000 for its multi-month duration, the platform bridges the gap between academic theory and practical environmental governance.

    Program Overview and Financial Benefits

This program functions as a structured climate leadership platform. Selected interns do not just sit in an office; they are deployed across various districts of Punjab to work alongside Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) field teams and designated officers.

    Academic Quotas & Eligibility Criteria

The Punjab Climate Internship Program aims to build a multidisciplinary cohort. It splits its available seats across three main academic streams to tackle climate issues from multiple angles:

    1. Environmental Sciences & Engineering (60% of Seats)

This major quota is reserved for graduates specializing in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, or closely related technical disciplines. These interns focus primarily on field monitoring, pollution data, and environmental impact assessments.

    2. Business, Computer Sciences & GIS (20% of Seats)

Targeting graduates of Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). These individuals manage the tech-backed side of operations, working heavily with digital monitoring tools like the Green Punjab App.

    3. Social Sciences, Arts, & Humanities (20% of Seats)

Dedicated to social science and humanities graduates. Their primary focus area centers on community engagement, policy documentation, educational outreach, and public behavioral shift campaigns.

    General Rules for Candidates:

    • Age Bracket: Candidates must be between 20 to 27 years old at the time of application submission.
    • Academic Performance: A strict merit threshold applies. Applicants must have at least 75% marks in an annual system or an equivalent CGPA in a semester system.
    • Domicile Status: Must hold a valid domicile from any district across the Punjab province.

    Step-by-Step Application Process

Eligible candidates must apply entirely online through the official EPD Punjab internship portal. Follow these simple steps to ensure your application is submitted successfully:

    1. Register on the Portal

Navigate to the official EPCCD portal and create your unique user account using your Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) number.

    2. Complete Your Profile

Fill out the comprehensive online digital form. Input all your basic personal details, contact data, and detailed academic timelines correctly.

    3. Upload Required Documents

Scan and upload clear, legible copies of your professional degrees or transcripts, CNIC (front and back), and your official district domicile certificate.

    4. Review and Submit

Double-check all entered information to avoid potential rejection, accept the terms, and hit submit before the announced batch deadline.

Core Responsibilities: What You Will Do

As a selected climate leader, your assignments are carefully distributed between digital training platforms and intense community action:

    • Field & School Deployment: Drive essential community actions and manage the Punjab Green School Certification Program by adopting and auditing one public school per district.
    • UNFCCC-Aligned Learning: Participate in daily Learning Management System (LMS) modules focused on international climate mitigation strategies.
    • District Action & Capstone: Design and execute a final localized capstone project addressing distinct environmental issues within your home district.
